Last week the Cubs performed their very own puppet shows as part of the Creative Challenge badge.

As part of the challenge they had to come up with their own ideas and storylines for their show. When that was decided they then created their own scenery and props from recycled materials and, finally, designed and made their own puppets.

Click on the picture below to see some of what they got up to!

Cub Creative Challenge

The Cubs' recently held their Halloween party in the hall - and everyone made a fantastic effort with their costumes.

The hall was decorated with the Cubs' own work which they had made the previous week - scarey shrunken apple heads, bin bag cats and ghostly wind-socks!

Prizes for best costumes were awarded to Lewis in his Obi-wan Kenobi outfit and Zoe's Count Dracula.

(Best leader's prize went to Brittany - aka Kieran!!) Surprised

Congratulations to Joe, Thomas and Alasdair who have gained their Silver Chief Scout Awards. All the boys came to Cubs through Beavers and are now moving onwards (and upwards) to Scouts.

All the leaders and Cubs wish them well in Scouts

And as some Cubs leave a new batch come into replace them - in huge numbers, with a record 14 new Cubs being invested into the Cub Pack (with another 4 brand new ones to come in the next few weeks). Some of the new Cubs are pictured below:

Congratulations to the Cubs' Five-a-Side Football team who reached the semi-finals in the District competition.

They played extremely well to get through their Group with a record of 4 wins, a draw and 2 losses, and each received a bronze medal for their fantastic efforts.

Well done to Joe, Thomas, Luke, Zoe, Garath, Liam and Ruaraidh who are pictured below with their medals. Laughing

Also well done to Ryan and Kieran who did a terrific job as the competition referees!

23 Cubs have have been working very hard and have now  gained their Local Knowledge Activity badge. The badge involved the Cubs being out and about exploring in Gourock - finding their way around using maps, visiting places of interest and locating different places on the map.

It was also discovered that not one of them had ever been inside a phone box!!   Surprised

Well done to all the Cubs! Laughing

(PS The answer was 11 Cubs in a phone box - see below!)
